Thursday was another day that I looked forward to because we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios and 1. I knew that we were going to be eating at the Brown Derby which is where Larry and I had our big dinner on our Honeymoon and I was hoping to use this as kind of an anniversary gift to each other (didn't quite happen that way, but it's ok--we were with our family and that is always ok too), and 2. At this dinner that I looked so forward to I knew we were getting tickets to the Fantasmic show that night which I had heard was a great show.
Hollywood Studios is ok. It's more of an adult park and there are lots of shows and the day really needs to be planned well to have enought time to get to do everything that you want to and it's not always that easy. It was still a good day though and we had a lot of fun.
We did the Backlot tour which is neat to watch in my opinion. We watched the Muppets 3D show and it was really good. Larry and Bayleigh and I got to watch the Little Mermaid Live which we all LOVED. Bayleigh thought it was great and we sat up front in row 3. (that is really the best row bc 1 and 2 are too close and you can't see it all). We got to watch the parade that went by with the Toy Story Characters and that was SO awesome because one of the Army men that mic'd our section kept pointing my nephew out for his participation in the show and even in the end threw a ball his way that Eric totally snagged for Max--VERY well deserved. Of course most of the Toy Story characters were in the parade which was fun to watch because Toy Story is Larry's favorite Disney movie. :)
We thought the wait for the Toy Story 3D show/ride, whatever you want to call it was only 80 mins and so we stood in line for it before the Fantasmic show started. WELL, that ended up being a PAIN IN THE REAR! Our wait was over 2 hours and the family in front of us was literally the MOST annoying family in the park--that is until I started having some fun annoying them rudely after listening to them long enough. Once that happened--I became the most annoying person in the park. :) This ride was said to be pretty awesome so we didn't want to miss it, but take it from me--IF you go and the wait is over an hour--skip it. I wanted SOOOOOOOOOO badly to ride the Aerosmith Roller Coaster and go to the gift shop and we simply ran out of time. :( I was so crushed by that, but what can you do???? We also missed our chance for autographs with Buzz and Woody because of our wait in that line. ((It all turned out ok though, tune in for the post about Friday)).
Anyways, this wait for this ride, put us getting to Fantasmic just minutes before it started--we were supposed to be there 45 minutes before it started and the lady said we had missed our chance to get in. Luckily Larry had spotted a lady by a gate and we rushed over to her JUST before they closed the gate. We were running machines. :) This show was SO worth it though. It's a Mickey Mouse Fireworks Show and it is SO cool. They spray water up and make walls of mist and show animation clips on the mist like a movie screen to be part of the show. This Fantasmic show ended up being one of my favorite things we did on this trip. I don't know all of the ways to get tickets to the show, but I know CERTAIN reservations to the Brown Derby will get you in upon request. :)
In the picture below Larry is not showing off his booty...Eric and him thought it would be so funny to walk up to Tow Mater and pretend to work on him. LOL! Of course Larry did it. :)
The day really was a lot of fun and the kids did great as well, with all the waiting and LOTS of walking we had to do. I forgot to mention that while we went to the Mermaid show the other 4 Rutherford's went to the Narnia Show. After both shows is when we met up and did the Toy Story Ride. All in all the day ended with only time to shower and go to bed which is what we all did happily. :)
Friday's blog is coming soon! Until then--Take care and thanks for checking in.
Love,
Jenn
