Kindergarten Field Trip 5.26.11

My pictures on this blog are out of order, but you'll still get how the day went!
On Thursday, May 26th, 2011 the entire Kindergarten class went on a field trip. We went to Edinburg (sp?), Indiana to Not Just Popcorn popcorn factory, the library, and the park.
The day started late due to a 2 hour delay thanks to bad weather and a tornado hitting Morristown. Our schools are in a district together so because they had no power we got in on the delay as well. That didn't break my heart because I was up til early hours of the morning watching the radar on TV.
Bayleigh and 3 other of her classmates ended up with the Full day kids so that the groups were somewhat even. That was fine with us. Our group hit the factory first and then the library...hence the out of order pictures and then we all met up together for lunch in the park and then headed home. The day was gorgeous!!!

Here is a picture of our group listening to stories about popcorn from the librarian. I was surprised how well they all did considering it was almost 12:30 when we got done and I know I was sure hungry.

Here is Lemon Lime popcorn being made. The flavoring is a hard candy coating. Pretty neat.

Bayleigh standing in front of already made popcorn. They have a bag that holds 28 pounds of popcorn. It was HUGE!

Here the students are watching the coating going on. After they got to try a sample and they were very interested in that!

This is the popcorn after it pops. it goes through this machine that filters out the seeds. The seeds are then fed to the birds and chipmunks.

Just below bayleigh is a bag that they popcorn falls into. The factory is VERY small, but very neat. We ended up with free samples of Caramel and Confetti that includes, Blue Raspberry, Lemon, Orange, Grape, Green Apple, and Strawberry. I purchased Peanut Butter and Jelly (grape), Dill Pickle (the #2 selling flavor just below Caramel), Chicago Cheddar--gross, Banana Split that included icecream, banana, chocolate, strawberry, and pineapple and then we bought Larry Blue and while for colts colors and was icecream and blue raspberry flavored. Other than the Dill and Chicago Cheddar we just purchased sample bags. It was good.

This was the first time the school took a field trip here, but I am pretty sure that due to the success of our trip an annual trip is in the future for other students.

Love,

Jenn

No Parking???

I have to laugh...Larry tells me all the time that I can't drive, (in my defense...he taught me). I think I am busted....parking is def. not my forte! I think that the reason I can't park is because I can't back up very well, especially in this huge truck so as I park I try to position myself in a way that I can easily get out, without realizing it.
Then my good friend mentioned that they move the parking lines when I am in my destination...I like her way of thinking! :)

The above is the photo that really caught my attention to how bad I actually am! The hilarious thing is that my good friend mentioned above was with me and neither of us noticed it until we came out of the store. Then we instantly started laughing. LOL! Yes, I AM, THAT bad!!!

Love,

Jenn

Little League 2011: Team Culligan

It's official! I am ready now to announce....Bayleigh is on Team Culligan for the 2011 Waldron Little League Season! She plays on Diamond #3 with the Girls 5-8 years old. :)
The season has started off slow due to rain, but we got some practices in...never with all the girls showing up, but we got some in none the less.

Team Culligan:

Row 1: Sophie (bat girl), Makayla, Aleah, Lily, Bayleigh.

Row 2: Madelyn H., Madelyn D., Zara, Maliah, Madison.

Row 3: Coach Scott Scudder, Assistant Coach/Pitcher Dan Hudnall.

Picture Day was May 21, 2011. I took these shots behind Pruitt's Studio of Photography. I might not scan and post the professionals when they came in because I think mine are just as good. :)

We are very excited about the season to begin. I am the "book keeper", which I had never done before so I was kind of nervous. I'll blog my experience in a later post. LOL! I am posting serveral posts today. Stay tuned. (Actually, By the time you get down to this one you might have already read all I've done).
Thanks for checking in!
Love,
Jenn

Just For Today...

Just for Today...

Just for this morning, I am going to smile when I see your face and laugh when I feel like crying.

Just for this morning, I will let you choose what you want to wear, and smile and say how perfect it is.

Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you one if he comes by.

Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.

Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.

Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.

Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.

Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.

Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.

Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.

I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mother and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore.

And when I kiss you goodnight I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then that I will thank God for you, and ask him for nothing, except one more day!

**I can't remember where I found this, but I posted it as a note on my Facebook page and when I stumbled across it again today I was lost in the words and reduced to tears because I am so grateful to God for all he has given me. No matter how bad a day may be....it is still a blessing from God. Bayleigh LizMarie....I love you more than life itself. Thanks for checking in. Until next blog.
Love,
Jenn

Mother's Day 2011

Almost 6 1/2 years ago to the day, I gave birth to my best friend. Ms. Bayleigh LizMarie Rutherford!!! She entered this world weighing a tiny 6 lbs. 14.9 ozs. and was 19 in. long. This tiny being of a person filled my heart with so much love I thought my heart couldn't possibly stay in my chest. I NEVER in my wildest dreams imagined this type of love and I NEVER want to experience a day in my life without again.

Tomorrow is Sunday, May 8th, 2011--Mother's Day. I know that the focus is supposed to be on the mommy of the house--that of course is me. However, tomorrow, I will be celebrating Bayleigh. I will celebrate her because she is my every reason for living in this world. She is my everything and I love her more than words could ever express. The second they put her in my arms in that surgery room, I changed. I sofened. I learned at that VERY moment what life is all about. Talk about seeing the light! I always tell Bayleigh, "You know how I know God loves me...He gave me you"! Boy did I ever do something right. :)

Having Bayleigh also did something to my relationship with my own mother. I think the one thing I am learning very quickly is about the word regret. My mom was a single mother to twin girls. We certainly did NOT make her life easy. We still don't to be honest. Since this past October things have changed in our family. I decided to be done with my sister. ((This does not change the fact that I love her very much)). We never really have gotten along--my poor mom can vouche for that. (regret) I know that this decision tears my mom apart (regret), but it's working for us girls. Life is so much more less dramatic, less stressful, and easier without the fighting.

I am sorry, back to my point....my relationship with my mom has softened as well. I love her. I have always loved my mom, but never had I showed it the way she deserves. (regret). I sadly, don't think I do now either. (regret). The day Bayleigh entered our lives I not only became a mommy, but my mom became a Grammy--and a dang good one at that. I see a joy in my mom's eyes and smile when Bayleigh is around that I never noticed before. It's beautiful.

I am 29 years old and so that means that for 29 years I have not been a good daughter, but it's never too late to change your story. As a matter of fact my Bible study right now is over a book titled Same Life, New Story. My new story starts now because it is NEVER too late to change. I will be a better mommy as of today. I will be a better daughter as of today. I will be a better me all together as of today. I hope I can make my mom as proud of me as I am of Ms. Bayleigh. I love you mom and am so sorry for being such a pain when I was little, OK and as an adult too. Bayleigh, YOU are my LIFE. I love you so much and I hope I will continue to show you just how much, each and every day. I love you chick-a-dee!!!!!

I hope you all enjoy your Mother's Day tomorrow. A very special Happy Mother's Day goes out to my Mom, Rachel, Kristen, Jenn, Jennifer, Aunt Mary, and every other woman in my life. Love you all!!! Until Next Blog!

Love,

Jenn

It's a BOAT!

One of Bayleigh's favorite things to do with her daddy is hang out in the garage. She reminds me so much of myself because when I was her age I was always in the same garage with papa, smashing cans, playing in dirt, playing with all his various tools. Her favorite tool--a hammer! LOL! Below is her latest creation--it's a boat. I think it is inspired by all of our rainy days. :) She said that the door stopper attached to the back is to break the ice that the boat might sail through--wonder if this is the Titantic?!

I do have pictures from our first and only practice we've had for Little League, but that's a later post. This momma is tired. :) Thanks for checking in! Until Next Blog!

Love,

Jenn
