So much has been going on in the Rutherford home. As I've mentioned numerous times, our schedules we're crazy busy and for at least the next couple of weeks that has calmed. Basketball and Volleyball have both ended. Pics to come later when I have time to actually get them off of the camera. Softball is about to begin and that will be a couple of days each week too. We LOVE softball so we can't wait for it to start, but I am not going to lie, I need a break from running.
Our little dog Abbi got really sick last weekend. Monday morning I scheduled a vet appt for her and unfortunately, we passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. That was a tough loss. Bayleigh took it kind of hard too, but she had witnessed how sick she was and we explained that we don't want her to suffer like she was. Abbi ended up getting Parvo. Ignorance on our part unfortunately didn't help. We had put off her shots to take her and Cooper at the same time to the vet's clinics to have them on the same schedule. Due to her age and size, the parvo hit her fast and hard. :( I really don't even know if her vaccine's would have been up to date if she would have survived. :( SO SAD!
Bayleigh had her first 2 week long Spring Break. I was so looking forward to it and then in true Indiana fashion--day 1, snow storm! SERIOUSLY?!!! Needless to say, I was bummed and basically pouted the entire first week. I had decided the second week we were out of this state---not so much. Everything was either booked or too expensive due to it being Spring Break. So, we ended up stripping Bayleigh's wallpaper and got the process rolling with getting her room redone. It confirmed that wallpaper sucks and it I don't care if I ever see wallpaper again too! We still don't have the room done. With Abbi getting sick and our M-F schedules being busy we just have to fit it in when possible.
In the midst of all of this stuff going on, I decided to kick a nasty habit. It's been stressful, but I am doing it and doing it well. No cheating. I feel better and have been really watching myself so that I don't gain weight which is what typically happens with kicking this habit.
Then my truck, which I need for the size, has been giving me fits! Week two when I had B's room torn apart the water pump goes out and that's a $412 fix! Now, the compressor for the A/C is going out too. I take it next week for that. I know from research that the part alone for that is over $300. SIIIIIIGHS!
All of the above has really had me basically being a negative Nancy. When Abbi passed I cried harder than I have cried in a very long time. I think that the stress of everything just FINALLY caught up with me. Crying feels good. Not when you're in the moment of course, but now reflecting on it, I have been able to compose myself and I can tell my mood has lightened. I will tell you one thing, I have the best support system in a very wonderful best friend. She listens and then says the sweetest things and really helps me through. She makes me laugh. I hope she realizes how much I appreciate her! LOVE YOU FRIEND!
The pictures in the blog below this are from my phone. They include the new paint colors, the process of redoing Bayleigh's room, A morning of Bowling with Bayleigh's friends, and Yesterday 4.10.13 Bayleigh reached 100 A.R. Points and earned a T-Shirt at school. She, we too, are very proud! :)
