This week, July 16-19, 2012 Bayleigh has been participating in a volleyball camp at Girls Inc. She is struggling with bumping the ball, but her serving is terrific.

Last Game of the Season
Tonight, Monday, July 9th, 2012, was Bayleigh's last 2012 Waldron Little League game. It was actually the tourney game.
We finished third, last, in the league, but let me just say-Steve is an amazing coach! To see the girls learning the game because he actually took the time to coach them and to see them improve with every single game was so awesome to watch! We had the best girls and their parents ROCKED too! We won two games, but our girls are so sweet it felt like we won every time we played! I loved it! Here's some pics I took before the game and I'll post more pics later from the game and of the medal. The team pic is one my friend, that I made at the diamond, took and posted on Facebook.

Nails
Tonight I decided to paint my nails using two ideas I found on Pinterest.
First I used Vaseline and applied it to my skin around my nails and then painted them Frutti Petutie 540 by Sally Hanson.
I am horrible when it comes to painting my nails and I am very sloppy. This technique worked. After my nails dried I simply wiped the Vaseline off along with my mistakes.
Secondly, I used my scrap booking scissors and cut two pieces of tape and applied them to a few of my nails. Then I painted the exposed nail Black Out 24 also by Sally Hanson. After they were dry I peeled the tape off. This technique was OK. It was sloppier than I hoped by it may have been that I rushed it 1. By not allowing the pink to cure and 2. By not allowing the black to cure. However, it wasn't bad enough for me to erase them. :)

Math Facts
Summer is already passing us by quickly and we have been on the GO, GO, GO, but to keep refreshed for the start of school, I have taken a Pinterest idea and modified it to work best in our home. It requires very few supplies that I already had here at home and it will grow with Bayleigh as she moves on to harder subjects in Math Class.
What you need:
A Photo album
Index Cards
Permanent Marker
Dry Erase Marker
sorry this is sideways
I wrote out Math problems on each index card using the permanent marker. I did NOT include an addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division symbol. (This is what will make the cards grow with your child).
Next, insert the index cards into a sleeve of the photo album. This creates the surface for your child to write with the Dry Erase Marker to reuse the Math Facts cards over and over. This is where you will add your symbol for which topic your child will practice and it wipes off easily with a rag or tissue. So easy, yet SO FUN! AND, it is easy to pack in the car for trips to the store or even longer road trips.
This is a project that can be done with children of all ages.
*You can buy the 8.5x11 clear page protectors and a binder and slip a coloring page into the top.
*You can write letters of the alphabet and have them trace the letters or even draw a blank line off to the side or at the bottom so that the child can write the letters on their own.
*You can even slip one of those pages that have the lines that Kindergarteners and First Graders use to learn to write with, you know the brownish color pages with the dashed line in the center, and have them practice writing spelling words and numbers as well.
As the time comes I will type several math problems out and get a binder to put those same pages into and time her as we drive down the road or even here at home. It saves paper. It's unique so it keeps the child interested and you can moved the cards around in the photo sleeves so that it's different every time. :) (I save the last sleeve to put the extra cards in that won't fit). Hope you have as much fun with this project as we are having!
